Thoughts on Dental Care / by Garrek Stemo

Dental care, or caring for your teeth, is very important to me. It is well known that Americans are obsessed with having perfect teeth, but how important is dental hygiene? I am not an expert, but I know that my American dentist tells me to brush and floss at least twice a day. For many people, it can be hard to remember to do regular teeth maintenance so often. Some American dentists (like mine) recommend building up the habit gradually. Choose two days a week to start. When you get used to that, add another day, then another, until you are brushing and flossing every day! You should also visit your dentist at least twice a year for a regular checkup.

If you don't have good dental hygiene, you can get disease, like gingivitis. As you get older, your teeth might fall out and you will have lots of other difficulties. An unhealthy mouth is also gross (or very disgusting) and I would not want to smile in public, but this is just my American opinion. We here at Holly Kenko wrote about the dangers of not taking care of your teeth properly. Check it out!
